Celebrating Carol Carey: Honouring 48 Years of Dedication and Service

ARCNews

I have had the pleasure to work with Carol Carey for over 30 years.

Carol has been the life blood, the hard drive, the heartbeat and the face of the Australian Resuscitation Council.

Carol officially joined the Australian Resuscitation Council in July 1989 but had been involved with the organisation since the beginning in 1976.

Her tireless devotion to the Council has been evident by her decades of involvement in council meetings, and her convening role in 12 Spark of Life Conferences.

Her commitment has also been externally recognised by her induction onto the Victorian Honour Roll for Women in 2020, and in the 2023 King’s Birthday Honours List was awarded an OAM for 47 years to medical administration.

Her presence will be sorely missed. We are working with Carol through a transition period as we seek a replacement for her wide and varied role.

I’m sure you will join us in wishing Carol all the best in her retirement and thank her for her nearly five decades of dedication to improving health outcomes for Australians.

Thank you Carol.
