Australian Resuscitation Council Grant Scheme 2025

The Australian Resuscitation Council is now accepting applications for its 2025 Research Grant Scheme. This initiative supports research that advances resuscitation and first aid practices in Australia.

Key Information:

    • Grant Amount: Up to $20,000 per grant.
    • Duration: 24 months (extensions possible, but no additional funding).
    • Closing Date: Friday, 28th March 2025 (AEST). Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
    • Submission: Applications must be emailed as a single PDF to [email protected] and named in the format SURNAME_2025 (e.g., JONES_2025).

Aims of the Scheme:
The Australian Resuscitation Council Research Grant Scheme aims to facilitate research in resuscitation and first aid practice in the Australian setting.

Preference will be given to projects that:

    • will contribute evidence to known gaps in scientific knowledge
    • addresses a link(s) in the ‘Chain of Survival’
    • have translational potential or will lead to larger project funding
    • are likely to be completed within 24 months.

Exclusions:

    • Reviews of any type (systematic, scoping, narrative, etc.) will not be funded.

Eligibility:

    • Open to both Experienced and Novice Principal Investigators.
      • Novice Investigators: Must include an experienced investigator as a supervisor and submit a letter of support.
      • Undergraduate Students: Eligible only if the research is part of an Honours degree.
    • Investigators with outstanding reports from previous Australian Resuscitation Council Research grants are ineligible unless acting as an experienced investigator on a novice grant.
    • Projects must not have funding from other sources, including State Branches.
    • The Principal Investigator must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

Professor Ian Jacobs served the Australian Resuscitation Council for 25 years and excelled in national and international resuscitation research, knowledge dissemination and collaboration.

The Australian Resuscitation Council is establishing the Ian Jacobs Fellowship as a lasting tribute to his memory.

The ARC Ian Jacobs Fellowship is planned to be awarded annually at the discretion of the ARC to meritorious applicants with the aims of supporting national and international resuscitation investigation and knowledge dissemination.

Congratulations to Mia McLanders who has been awarded the second Ian Jacobs Fellowship award.

Mia is a PhD Candidate at the Mater Research Institute, the University of Queensland.

2018 Award
